When buying a Chromebook, the operating system is one of the key factors. Chrome OS is lightweight and resource-friendly compared to traditional laptop operating systems like Windows or MacOS; plus it features fast boot times, simplified interface, and integrated malware protection.

Plus, its impressive 120Hz refresh rate provides smooth gaming. Unfortunately, its narrow aspect ratio may limit productivity when using Excel or Word documents.
3. Samsung Galaxy Chromebook
Samsung’s Galaxy Chromebook is an ideal lightweight laptop solution with a stunning display. This device replaces last year’s model while offering even greater performance at a slightly higher cost – yet remains lightweight enough for portability on-the-go.
The Galaxy Chromebook 2 boasts an eye-catching 13-inch QLED display that’s sure to dazzle. Utilizing similar technology as many high-end TVs from Samsung, its QLED panel produces richer colors with greater contrast and brightness compared to an LCD panel. In our tests we watched an 8K nature documentary on YouTube – its QLED panel brought out every detail, from green forests to vibrant orange fur on cheetahs!
Testing revealed that the Galaxy Chromebook’s battery proved more than adequate for our typical workday of typing, streaming videos and taking calls from colleagues. Overall we saw over eight hours of actual usage – more than enough time for most people!

4. Lenovo Flex 5i
If you need an all-day Chromebook, this one of the top options available. It has a powerful battery, beautiful screen and impressive productivity performance – an Intel Core i3 processor with 8GB RAM is sufficient for most tasks; its fast SSD and 57Wh battery lasted 16 hours 20 minutes in our web-browsing test; its 300 nit FHD IPS touchscreen touchscreen makes watching videos and typing great while not offering deep inky blacks like many OLED laptops do.
Hardware specifications and usage patterns play an integral part in determining how long a laptop’s battery will last. Higher-performance models with energy efficient components tend to enjoy longer battery lives, as do brighter screens.
Because most applications run online, Chromebooks don’t require as much storage than traditional PCs; however, if you plan on using yours for offline work or gaming purposes, make sure you purchase one with enough memory and storage capacity to suit your needs – some come equipped with 64GB eMMC flash storage, which you can upgrade later if necessary. Other key features to look out for include USB Type-C ports that support Thunderbolt 4 technology as well as HDMI monitor ports.
